Bitcoin explorer
blocks and transactions

Blocks and transactions straight from our Bitcoin node, with no third-party explorer in between. A block number, a block hash or a TxID — the node works out what you pasted. There is no address lookup on this network: the node does not answer for one.

The chain

Every block holds on to the one before it

The last line of a block is its parent's hash — and the very same string opens the block below it. The top pair shows it straight away; hover any other block and both of its links light up, the one holding it and the one it holds. The feed stops under the cursor, because two sixty-character lines cannot be compared while the window keeps moving.

What you can look up

What this page knows about Bitcoin

Bitcoin is the slowest network in this explorer, and that changes how the page reads: the feed can stand still for a long while and still be right. What the node will not do is resolve an address — that request comes back unread, and the field says so instead of returning an empty page.

The field accepts
a block number, a block hash or a TxID
A block shows
transaction count and block size
What it will not return
an address — the node answers no query about one
